Wyndmere will have 29 kids headed to the State Music Contest in Minot on May 7th! Students were selected for the state tournament after performing at the Region Music Contest in Hankinson on April 9th. The schools involved were North Sargent, Sargent Central, Milnor, Lisbon, Wyndmere, Hankinson and Fairmount.
Students who performed and received a superior rating (star), were able to advance to the state tournament. Judges were only able to star 1/3 of the total entries at the region music contest. There were 202 total entries from 7 different schools and 67 star ratings were given. Our students received 15 of them.
Students at state music will be performing their pieces for a judge and any additional students and/or families that come to watch at Minot State University. The top rating able to be received is a State Star, but will not advance further than state music. The contest begins at 9am and will finish around 3pm.
